It's been a busy busy week and weekend, and it's not even over yet. It's the week to celebrate birthdays and the real celebrations don't start until next Saturday!
Thursday night, Christine organized an early birthday dinner for me at Shamshiri Grill in Westwood (Thanks, Christine!). It was nice to be able to hang out with everyone, but it made me realize how far I have to drive just to see them now! Eep... Anyway, I was able to try their ice cream for dessert. It had ginger in it and also had rose water I think. It was... interesting. Sorry I didn't eat it!!!
Tonight, I just got back from Betty's birthday dinner at Buca di Beppo. You can't go wrong with Italian food :) We had a huge dinner and some dessert that someone had brought. She opened her presents while we were there, too. As much as I get embarrassed opening gifts in front of the givers, I am also embarrassed when the givee opens them in front of me! What if they don't like it?! Always my biggest fear in both scenarios.
Today, I ran some errands before going out. After tiding up just a little and doing a couple of chores, I went out to get my FREE deluxe car wash at the car wash down the street. I love free coupons in the mail. After that, I went to go get my eyebrows threaded. I've been growing my eyebrows for a month just so I could get them shaped again. I think I'm going to grow them out again because I didn't do my research enough before going. When I went in, it seemed there were 2 choices: get your eyebrows threaded, or get your eyebrows shaped by appointment. I got confused because I figured getting them threaded means they're going to shape them, too... right? Well, what I wanted was to get them shaped, but I wasn't expecting to pay 3x as much and I didn't have an appointment. Since I was already there, I opted for just the plain ol' threading. It actually turned out ok and has a decent arch, but now I'm curious to see how much better shaping would be. I just don't know if I want to grow out my eyebrows to its hideous, unruly natural state again :\ We'll see. I wasn't expecting threading to hurt much at all, but I think since I haven't been plucking for the past month, I wasn't used to it anymore. It hurt... but it wasn't THAT bad. Anyway, after this I went home to meet Betty and Randy at my house since they haven't seen it yet. They hung out for a bit and after they left I started to get ready for the dinner. Somewhere in there, a nap would have been nice.
Anyway, tomorrow night will be the birthday dinner for Kimquat at Duke's. I guess I could talk about that tomorrow :)
