I received my third custom-made greeting card today, and I must say I am intrigued. The first card I received was for my housewarming, and I thought, "Wow, this is amazing. She made this herself? I'm jealous". I envied her creativity and ability to make something so professional looking. My second card was a birthday card from bobabraces, and although the card was completely different from the first, I could see the resemblance and had to ask her how she made it because it was so friggin cute. She discovered it from a stamp-party which is somewhat similar to a tupperware-party or, more interesting, a pleasure-party :P I'm always trying to find interesting and cool ways to exercise the artsy fartsy part of my brain, so I kept this information in mind. Then today I received another birthday card from my fellow rotators that one of the girls makes for everyone's birthday (amongst the rotators). I realized that I've seen these before when signing them for others, but I don't know why I never asked about it. For some strange reason I never really considered it seriously until today, but I think it's because the name of the company that hosts these things (Stampin Up) was on the back of the card :P Their subtle marketing schemes have worked on me. The kits seem to be very similar to scrapbooking kits which is also a hobby I would like to pick up, but I always felt like I wasn't creative enough. Now I really want to attend one of these "stamping-parties", or even have one hosted in my home :) What do you say, fellow grandma-stitch-night ladies? Would you be interested?
