Sometimes I get excited over the silliest and simple things... but that's how life should be :)
After work today, I had to run some errands in preparation for Saturday. My quest today was to find plastic serving spoons and a tub for drinks (not a cooler). First stop: Party City. I wasn't sure if I was going to find what I needed here, and frankly I don't know why I even wanted to stop here today, but I was in luck because I found the serving spoons. I think I just wanted to see where it was because I'll be taking another trip there Saturday morning.
Then it was time to search for the unseemingly difficult to find tub. I tried Target yesterday and they didn't have any. But they did have some early in the summer in very cute colors! Anyway, a friend suggested Big Lots. No luck. I tried across the street at Big Kmart. Nope. I remembered that a coworker mentioned that there was a new Walmart that opened up that was close by to where I lived, so I took a trip. Now, for as long as I've lived in this city, there has not been a Walmart nearby. The closest one I knew of was 30 miles away. This didn't bother me too much, but it's always nice to take advantage of the low-priced items. As far as I knew, this city was anti-Walmart so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that a new one has opened up AND it's really close to my house. Well, I don't know why but when I got there I was kind of excited. You don't really think about it, but Walmart has pretty much EVERYTHING... and for cheaper usually! This Walmart was HUGE. I felt kind of lost as I walked aimlessly amongst the throng of fellow shoppers. It was seriously so busy in there, it was ridiculous. I walked around the Walmart, excited that it existed, and I finally came across the tub I was looking for. I felt a sense of accomplishment and relief once an employee pulled it off the shelf for me. I almost started to believe that they didn't sell them anymore, but I'm glad I found it! It cost me less than $5. Yay.
On the way home I decided to stop by the Super Kmart (not the Big Kmart that I mentioned above) that is down the street from my house. I've been looking for this cheap makeup brand that I've been hearing about (they have some wild colors and their eyeshadows are 99 cents) that seems to only exist in Kmarts. I've checked a few different Kmarts, and this one actually had it. I was happy. They didn't have too much that I wanted, but at least now I know where this cheap makeup exists. I thought that people were making it up. Well, the cool thing about this Kmart is that it's really big, it's cleaner and has more stuff than the Big Kmart which is a few blocks away (including some fruits and vegetables), and... it's 24 hours!!! I don't know why, but I like when stores are 24 hours. Something about that fascinates me. Perhaps it's knowing that if I need something in the middle of the night, or if I feel like shopping in the middle of the night, I can, haha :)

It's been busy lately and it looks like things will continue to stay busy until next week. Sunday, Giang threw a pizza party at her apartment. Mmm, it was fun making our mini personal pizzas! We watched some episodes from the first season of "Scrubs" (which is a funny show, I can't believe I wasn't an avid watcher), and watched "Snatch" while most everyone else played poker. Every now and then I get the urge to really play... but I get so intimidated by my expert ex-roomies! Congrats to Christine for winning!
Last night was our semi-frequent Grandma Stitch Night. It was hosted at Erin's this time. She made some delicious enchiladas! I'm not a fan of those, but these were delicious! She also made refried beans, spanish rice, and some cake. Sarah brought "Little Black Book" so we watched that while we did crafts. Ok, only some of us did crafts, haha. That movie was better than I expected, and the storyline was not very close to what I expected either!

I went to a wedding last night that took place on a boat in Newport Beach. It was for a coworker who happens to be a good friend of mine. It was a beautiful simple wedding with a hawaiian theme (so typically Ed). It was open bar all night, but I think those drinks were so weak. I didn't feel a thing. But that's a good thing because I was driving anyway. It was good to hang out with my coworkers again outside of work, especially now since I don't even get to see them much at all AT work. I brought Maree with me and she got to witness the craziness that is our crew ;) It was a fun night... too bad it was short-lived!

I went to the OC Fair last night with the old roomies and friends. We spent most of the time stuffing our faces with delicious "fair" food: cotton candy, funnel cake, roasted corn, battered potatoes, giant turkey legs, etc. The only event we really went to see was the pig races. Those little piggies were SOOO cute! I've always wanted a pet pig. I really wanted to take one home. And trust me, the pig races are much more fun/exciting then it sounds... ok well sorta, haha! Anyway, here are some pics. They are in reverse order because that's how photobucket put them and I'm too lazy to reverse the order :) And the pics are blurry :(

I don't know what's been wrong with me lately, but my back has been going out on me! Actually, it's only done it 2 or 3 times, but either way it sucks! The first time it happened, I was repainting my living room and I was standing on the couch. I must've moved funny because all of a sudden, a sharp pain went through my lower back and I could barely move! Instead of resting it off, I went on and finished painting the living room and bathroom. Then today, I wasn't even really doing anything, then BAM! it goes out again. It wasn't so bad at first. But when I was getting ready to go out and run errands, I was picking up stuff on the bathroom floor and OUCH! it went out and pretty bad this time. I almost couldn't stand up. Of course, I went out anyway but I felt that I needed to walk it off or something. But I don't get what's happening to me! I'm suspecting that maybe it has to do with latent effects from either my surgery and/or my car accident. I don't think it's because I'm getting old! It's kind of funny because I look like an old woman when it goes out, but the pain is excruciating! I think it may just have to do with my bad posture... :( I'd like to go to a chiro, but I don't know if my insurance covers it, and if not I'm not willing to fork up the money. *sigh* I guess I'll just take it easy... for now! And on an unrelated topic... I got cable today! Yippee! :D

I put up a new layout, but it seems to be having some formatting issues. It seems to be "consistently inconsistent", haha... ok, bad joke. Oh well, I'll figure it out later. I don't want to waste too much time on it.
Anyway, my weekend was spent back at Home. On Saturday, I went to the yearly Comic Con. I wasn't as interested in checking out the movie stars this year, but some guests included Charlize Theron and Kate Beckinsale and it would have been cool to see them. But I saw Kate already, so I didn't care as much. I'm excited to see Charlize in the new Aeon Flux movie! I got a ton of t-shirts this year which I'm pretty happy about. I also went home with a cute figurine that Chris bought me and had autographed (thanks, Chris!). Saturday night I went out with my best friend and some other friends to downtown. We stayed at Yardhouse for a while, then went to E Street. Blegh, I don't really like E Street. Never did. But at least the company made it worthwhile.
Sunday was my mom's birthday so my dad, my sister, and I chipped in for a massage and body treatment. Afterwards, we went to Bully's for lunch and had a thick, juicy primerib! Mmm... don't be jealous!
This weekend was pretty tiring, so I can't wait to be able to sleep in this Friday. Now that I have internet again, I can't pry myself away from the computer and sleep early during the week! It's overwhelming... yet at the same time, I don't know what to do online sometimes. Funny.

The anthem for the weekend: My Humps by Black Eyed Peas!
This weekend was mucho fun. I think it turned out better that I hung out in San Diego rather than Vegas. The company can't compare. Partying commenced last Thursday. I went to my cousin Maree's house and we hit up 330 in Brea. Friday night we drove down to SD after she got off work and tried to check out some bars in PB. It was so packed and I had the hardest time finding parking so we decided to just hang out at my friend's house for the night. It was a chill night, but with good company. The next day my friends had a sports themed bbq at their house. I came as a snowboarder and my cousin went as a tennis player. We stayed for a few hours, visited a family party, then went out to downtown that night. The night was ok. We visited Red Circle, Ole Madrid, Rock Bottom, and checked out Yardhouse. It was probably my most disappointing visit to Gaslamp, but it wasn't a horrible night. Some of the people were really weird. At least we didn't have to pay any cover thanks to Marv. Sunday night, we went to Gaslamp again but to go to HOB for an event. We decided to go early and chill at the restaurant first, then head into the club. This was the grand finale of the weekend. It was the funnest! We got our entrance fee paid for, and I was hooked up with some drinks so money-wise it was worth paying for dinner. I saw a lot of people that I haven't seen in forever, some of whom I missed a lot! I got a real good buzz and talked to some real cool people. We basically got hooked up all weekend (thanks to my friends and family!!!), and I didn't spend more than $100 all weekend. For a short-noticed 6-day weekend (and pseudo-vaca), this was so worth it and so much fun! YAY!
