I just got back from a lunch time seminar of Diversity Dialogue. The theme was "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations" and it was sponsored mainly by our company's GLBTA organization. Other than the free pizza and training credit, my main reason for wanting to attend this talk was to see the keynote speaker, George Takei! He's best known for his role on Star Trek as Mr. Sulu. I'm not a Trekkie but I am a Heroes fan! Fellow Heroes fans will recognize him as Hiro's dad ^_^ It turns out that George is a community activist and Human Rights Campaign member. They spoke a lot of his background, and with his anecdotal speech it seems that he is very accomplished and has gone through a lot. He is also into historic preservation. It was an interesting session and I'm glad I attended :)

Cheryl!! cool! I didn't know you went too?!! I was up there in the 3d row. (was there as a Star Trek fan eheh) I waited in line after the seminar to get his autograph and I got to say what I wanted to say to him! I was soooo nervous but he was really gracious! They took a picture of us and him so I'm going to check the GBLTA site to see when they put it up! (it would have cost me $55 if I had gotten it at the convention instead!)
wow, i didnt know you were a huge fan! hehe
