I'm Excited!

Thanks to B for filling me in on Tim Burton's new venture... IMDB describes it as "a live-action and CGI version of the classic "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" story." OOOOOOHHH!!! Alice in Wonderland is my ultimate favorite childhood Disney movie! I love it so much that I am incorporating it into my "plans" that I have previously mentioned but not yet have revealed ;) The movie is slated for 2010. I don't think it will be a dark rendition simply because I think it might still be associated with Disney. But it would be interesting if it was like this twisted pc video game I used to play back in the day! Haha... I can't wait to see what he does with it!!! :D

Father's Office Version 2.0!

I wrote about a previous experience at the Father's Office about a year or so ago, and to summarize I said that the burger may not have been "worth the effort of trying to get a table". So what if the wait and space wasn't a problem? Would it be worth it? Perhaps. If you're really curious and want to try the "prize-winning burgers" for yourself, you'd be happy to know that the Father's Office is making an upgrade! From UrbanDaddy LA:
Making the Upgrade
New Home for Famous Burgers

Among life's most important indulgences—a legendary burger and a cold pint from a trusted source.

Unfortunately, at Santa Monica's nationally famous gastropub Father's Office, they could only be enjoyed after an excruciating wait (you can't make reservations) and another excruciating wait (there's no table service), only to then try to ingest in peace despite a stranger's elbow in your face (in terms of size, this Office is more like a cubicle). Sure, the burger was worth it, but it was a lot to ask for a beef patty.

Now, you can get it for a lot less strife. The larger, shinier Father's Office Version 2.0 opens tonight in the Helms Bakery building.

The blond woods, classy menu and exotic brews all feel familiar, but you'll immediately recognize everything is much more...more. (Except for the prize-winning burger—dry-aged meat, bacon compote, arugula, caramelized onion, gruyere and Maytag bleu cheese on a toasted French roll—which remains untouched, of course.) Put in your order at the much larger bar, commandeer a generously sized leather booth, or stay outside on the spacious covered patio, our pick for sunny days from now through the fall. You can even reserve the semi-private room in the back for a special occasion.

Twenty burgers, nineteen deserving comrades...sounds like the new hottest reservation in town. Apologies to the Mozzas.

The U

I discovered this site from a Seventeen YouTube video and I thought it would be worth a mention even though it's of no use to me anymore but it could be very useful for those high school seniors looking to make a decision on their recent acceptance letters. It's called theU.com and it's for prospective college students. You can get an insight of college life for the college of your choice and even get virtual tours of the schools! I think the idea is really cool, and I wish that they had this when I was deciding on colleges back in the day. At first glance, it looks like there is a social network integrated in there as well so you can network with potential students early on. It seems that there are also a lot of resources for career planning, student loans, etc. I checked out the page for my alma mater and was amused by the ratings :)

Girls... "Kinda Hot"... Top major is African American studies... looks like the kids have caught on to the easy way of getting into UCLA! :P
